My early experiences with social media tools like Pinterest and Instagram were pivotal in shaping my Personal Learning Network (PLN). I have connected with educators and fellow students who shared valuable resources and ideas, particularly in areas like project-based learning and creative teaching strategies. Interacting with these individuals not only broadened my perspective but also provided me with practical insights and inspiration for my own projects. Platforms like X allowed me to engage in real-time discussions on educational trends and best practices, which I found immensely beneficial. In my future career, I envision using these platforms to continue building a professional community, sharing my own insights, and staying updated with innovations in education.

Growing up, I attended a digitally rich school that provided access to various technologies, including laptops and smartboards. This environment positively influenced my K-12 experience, allowing me to become comfortable with digital tools that are now essential in higher education. My familiarity with technology prepared me well for college, where I encountered even more advanced applications for learning and collaboration. However, I recognize that not all students had the same advantage; some peers came from digitally poor backgrounds and struggled with access to technology. To better support these students, my school could have implemented more inclusive programs that ensured equitable access to technology, thereby fostering a more comprehensive learning environment for all.

In my future classroom, I would like to implement collaborative writing tools like Google Docs and social annotation platforms such as Hypothesis. These tools promote real-time collaboration, allowing students to co-create and provide feedback on each other's work, which fosters a sense of community and collective learning. For example, I could design a lesson where students work in groups to write a research paper on a relevant topic. Using Google Docs, they could brainstorm ideas, divide sections, and edit each other's contributions while I provide guidance and support. Before starting the project, I would prepare students by conducting a workshop on effective collaboration techniques and the functionalities of the tools, ensuring they feel confident and capable in their collaborative efforts. This approach not only enhances their writing skills but also builds essential teamwork and communication abilities.
